Chief Technology Officer and President
Applied Research & Photonics, Inc.
Harrisburg, PA, United States
Dr. Anis Rahman is an acclaimed scientist in the field of semiconductors and nanotechnology. Known for the “Rahman-Tomalia” effect for high power T-ray generation, he won many scientific awards including NASA Nanotech Brief’s “Nano-50” award twice; CLEO/Laser Focus World’s “Innovation award;” and “MP Corrosion Innovation of the Year,” by the NACE. Anis is the founder of Applied Research & Photonics (ARP) a leading Terahertz (T-ray) company located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania serving the semiconductor and nanotechnology industry among others, (see http://arphotonics.net). Dr. Rahman is the inventor of the “Dendrimer Dipole Excitation,” a new mechanism for high power, continuous wave T-ray generation. With this T-ray, ARP has created several new scientific instruments including a camera-less lattice resolution volume imaging technology that can see and analyze below the surface of semiconductors and nanomaterials. Anis is a recognized scientific leader and member of scientific organizations including the American Chemical Society (ACS) and The Optical Society of America (senior member). He is the past chair of the optical metrology technical group of the OSA, past chair of the Small Chemical Businesses Division, and past chair of the local chapter of the ACS. Anis also received awards from the OMICS International keynote recognition; Center for Dermal Research, Rutgers University; and the Entrepreneurial Leadership award by the Juniata College of Pennsylvania.
