The global water crisis impacts 1 out of every 9 people on the planet. 844 million people lack access to clean water. 2.3 billion people do not even have basic sanitation services. More than 5 trillion plastic pieces are afloat at sea. The litter that is being delivered into oceans is toxic to both marine life and humans. Clearwater Innovations is student-run environmental advocacy program. Our mission is to raise awareness about the global water crisis, encourage garage lab research, and increase student environmental public policy engagement. Many members of Clearwater Innovations have been working on water-related scientific research for many years. Our projects generate great interest among the local community and industrial experts. Together, through outreach programs and educational events such as art competitions, we hope to inspire more students to contribute to a better environment.
