A small number of process gases represent the bulk of direct greenhouse gas emissions in wafer production. There is no one "silver bullet" solution but there are multiple approaches toward greenhouse gas reduction which can be pursued in combination to have significant impact. Solving the problem of emissions from semiconductor fabs will require a broad view that includes process chemistry, emissions characterization, data modeling, and navigating regulatory requirements.
