Gregory Woods, Chair of Green ASML SD
Passionate in making our planet sustainable for our children and grandchildren. Leaving a greater sense of responsibility in our day-to-day actions. Helping lead the fight locally and globally against environmental corruption and greenwashing.
Our mission at ASML’s Green network revolves around three pillars: awareness, community and change awareness. Led by employees, the network was established for like-minded people across ASML to connect, share ideas on sustainability practices and support bottom-up initiatives that drive sustainable operations throughout our organization.
I discovered the Green network that was formed in the Netherlands, subscribed to its newsletter and quickly realized the impact it was having on ASML’s sustainability goals. Later, being recognized as a Green International Ambassador for the ASML San Diego site. This journey has embedded me deeply into ASML's corporate responsibility and sustainability conversations. A major milestone for Green ASML SD was the successful funding and planting of a 40,000 tree project in the Santiam State Forest in Oregon. Additional initiatives include partnering with the Surfrider Foundation annually to support clean beaches for SD residents, the liason for our very own campus solar panel project and the successful elimination of over 10.1 tons of annual disposable coffee cup waste from the ASML San Diego site.
The experience I've personally gained from being an employee network leader has been pivotal in my professional growth. I’ve learned how to interact with stakeholders at all levels and handle the challenges we face when trying to implement new projects.
