Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
I am Ajay Narayan Konda Ravindranath, a Ph.D. candidate at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, specializing in nanotechnology and flexible electronics. My research, under the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research, focuses on aerosol printed strain sensors for advanced human monitoring systems.
My academic journey in nanotechnology began with a B.Tech from SRM Institute of Technology and Science. Here, I built a foundation in lithography, solid-state technology, energy harvesting, nanomaterial synthesis, and nanocharacterization techniques. My thesis focused on hydrogen production using graphene-based photocatalysts.
I pursued an M.Tech in Nanoelectronics at VIT University, where I delved into nano and microfabrication technologies and advanced MOSFETs. I worked on PbS quantum dots for NIR detection and their photoluminescence properties and completed a year-long internship at IIT Hyderabad on flexible perovskite-based homojunction sensors, resulting in a publication in Advanced Material Interface journal.
Currently, my Ph.D. research involves developing printed heaters for IR applications in collaboration with Afferent Wearable Pvt Ltd. This includes designing prototypes, analyzing performance, and ensuring product compliance with industry standards. I also contribute to Profpreneur, developing printed EcoG, EEG, and ECG patches.
My primary focus is on printed and flexible electronics, particularly aerosol jet printing to create high-performance strain sensors for wearable devices. I aim to optimize printing processes and material compositions to enhance sensor functionality and durability for real-world applications.
I have expertise in advanced printing techniques, including aerosol jet 3D printing and PCB printing, and proficiency with characterization instruments like SEM, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy. My skills extend to CAD, material simulation, and data analysis software.
Fluent in English and Tamil, with elementary knowledge of French and Japanese, I have been recognized through several scholarships and awards, including the DST scholarship and CSIR NET JRF.
Passionate about nanotechnology, I aim to contribute significantly through innovative research in flexible and printed electronics.
