Samuel Wood is the Head of Data Automation for Digital Solutions at EMD Electronics and has over a decade of experience in the use of data analytics and applied machine learning to improve global manufacturing and supply chain processes. He holds an MBA from Arizona State University, an MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a BS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University.
At EMD Electronics, Samuel leads a team of engineers and analysts responsible for manufacturing and supply chain analytics across 20 production plants worldwide. His focus and responsibilities include process controls automation, data engineering, and implementing solutions to reduce cycle times, eliminate scrap and rework, increase operational efficiency, and improve quality. His work in supply chain analytics has focused primarily on inventory optimization, demand forecasting, capacity management, and end-to-end supply chain resiliency.
Prior to his current role, Samuel served as Data Analytics Manager and Senior Process Engineer for the Planarization (CMP) business at EMD Electronics, where he drove initiatives to develop a collaborative, multi-echelon data analytics ecosystem, deployed digital tools for predictive quality in manufacturing, and pioneered innovative AI/ML solutions for virtual metrology. His career also includes significant contributions at Micron Technology and Eaton Corporation as a process controls system engineer and quality engineer.
