David Henshall bio:
David currently holds the position of Vice President of Business Development at SRC (Semiconductor Research Corporation), where he fosters partnerships with the government, recruits new industry members, and expands existing industry memberships. Notably, he’s currently leading the formation of SMART USA, a collaboration of over 80 organizations dedicated to establishing the Manufacturing USA Digital Twin Institute.
Before joining SRC, David served as a federal employee at both ARPA-E and DARPA building infrastructure to support the commercialization of federally funded research, including contributing to the development of MTO’s Tech Transition Accelerator.
Prior to his government roles, David spent 20 years in the wide bandgap semiconductor industry supporting the LED, RF, and power electronics sectors. During this time, he led operations, established and managed a profitable business supplying engineered substrates, and conducted research pivotal to the widespread adoption of LED lighting.
Dave earned his B.S. and M.S. in Ceramic Engineering and Science from Alfred University, authored and co-authored over 25 research papers, and holds a patent.
