As soon as one challenge is addressed, five more appear — or at least that’s how it feels within project logistics. Over the last 5 years, project logistics operators have endured navigating a rapidly changing and unpredictable shipping and logistics environment. A limited capacity of multipurpose vessels and container operators has been coupled with environmental constraints along the Panama Canal, turmoil in the Red Sea, unforeseen events in Baltimore, and equipment supply that is not keeping pace with booming demand. Construction Logistics Managers find themselves jumping from one problem to another while trying to keep up with construction schedules, while established suppliers are struggling with their own supply chains. There is little to no buffer for absorbing mistakes. Solutions must be found. This session will discuss strategies for finding alternative solutions and addressing stubborn problems in today’s hectic business environment to support semiconductor construction logistics.
